On August 8, 2026, Althea, NeuroAlchemy, and Altitude Mood came together to make regulated Natural Medicine care more accessible.

Nine participants each paid a greatly reduced fee to participate in a group Natural Medicine Experience, with 11 Natural Medicine students completing the final portion of their required consult hours prior to full licensure. NeuroAlchemy provided the space and expert supervision at a reduced cost, Altitude Mood donated the Natural Medicine, and Althea supported participant coordination and provided affordable electronic documentation infrastructure to help meet the documentation requirements of Colorado’s regulated Natural Medicine framework.

The experience brought together participants and facilitators in a carefully supported educational setting. I was honored to participate as one of the student facilitators, working alongside my fellow trainees with four NeuroAlchemy owners present throughout the experience to provide guidance and support. The organizers believe it was the first group Natural Medicine Experience in the nation facilitated by students completing their required training hours within the regulated framework.

Nine people entered a room willing to be deeply vulnerable with themselves and with one another, and what unfolded was a reminder of how much capacity for connection, resilience, and aliveness we carry. I watched guarded faces soften, tears flow, laughter move through the room, and people draw strength from one another. At one point, a participant wrote in large letters, ‘WE GET TO BE ALIVE!’ I will never forget that moment. I left with an even deeper respect for the courage it takes to let ourselves be seen, to feel what we have spent years protecting ourselves from, and to discover that parts of us we thought were gone may still be waiting for us. To witness that kind of vulnerability and humanity, while learning alongside fellow facilitators in training, was an experience no book or paper could have taught us. It was an extraordinary gift.”

Who Can Request a Session? Do I need a diagnosis?

One thing that surprises people: Colorado’s regulated Natural Medicine program does not require a diagnosis, a referral, or a prescription. Unlike traditional psychiatric treatment, you don’t need to be sick to access this work. Every participant still goes through a full health and safety screening — but the reason you’re seeking a Natural Medicine Experience doesn’t have to be a diagnosed mental health condition.
