Anam Arbor Colorado is a separate Colorado entity focused specifically on Natural Medicine services within Colorado’s regulated framework. About Kate
Kate Dowden is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 17 years of experience as a registered nurse, licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner in both Colorado and Utah.
Her first career in nursing shaped the way she understands care.
Kate spent years working in pediatric rehabilitation, alongside children and families navigating illness, permanent disability, uncertainty, and profoundly difficult circumstances. Those years taught her something that has stayed with her: healthcare cannot always fix what has happened, but it can help people feel less alone while they move through it.
That became part of the foundation for her transition into psychiatric mental health care in 2022.
Kate completed her graduate training as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and has continued to work at the intersection of mental health, integrative care, and psychedelic research, with a particular interest in how these experiences, both good and challenging, affect the mind, brain, and whole person.

Her broader clinical background includes psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, psychedelic integration, support following difficult psychedelic experiences, ketamine treatment, and other emerging approaches to mental health.
Singer and Musician
Kate is also a singer, and music is woven naturally into how she experiences connection, emotion, and being human. So yes, there may be singing during a Natural Medicine Experience.
